Meet Austin Family Law Attorney Ben Carrasco
I am a seasoned Austin family law attorney with a practice focused on family law and business litigation. While the bulk of my current practice is focused on family law, I also have experience litigating business disputes, including breach of contract, collections disputes, business torts, fiduciary liability, DTPA actions, fraud, and real estate litigation.
In my family law practice, I litigate all aspects of family law, including divorce, child custody, child support, property division, modifications, spousal support, paternity, and enforcement actions. I am experienced in every stage of the litigation process, from inception of a lawsuit through discovery, obtaining injunctive relief, mediation, arbitration, and jury trial.
I began my legal career practicing complex commercial litigation, first with the Austin office of a global law firm and later with an Austin-based firm, before I opened my own practice. I decided to open my own firm and transition to family law for two reasons: I prefer being my own boss and I enjoy the “human” element of family law. It can be a cynical and difficult area of law, but at the end of the day, I can make a significant difference in people’s lives. As an Austin family law attorney, what can be more rewarding than that?
I am a proud Austin native, although I spent some time growing up in California. After receiving my undergraduate degree from the University of California at Berkeley, I spent several years in Washington, D.C. working as a legislative aide on Capitol Hill. I then went on to earn my law degree from Stanford Law School where I served as an associate editor of the Stanford Law and Policy Review and was recognized for excellence in legal writing.
